Terms & Conditions: Gecko Blinds Limited

1. The Contract

By booking a home consultation or placing an order with Gecko Blinds Limited ("the Company"), you agree to these Terms and Conditions. The contract is formed when we provide a written order confirmation and receive your deposit.

2. Measurements & Specifications

  • Company Measurement: As a "Measure and Fit" service, we take full responsibility for the dimensions of the products.

  • Customer Changes: Once measurements are signed off at the consultation, any structural changes you make to the window (e.g., adding plasterboard, tiling, or new window handles) may affect the fit. The Company is not liable for fit issues caused by alterations made after our measurement date.

3. Bespoke Nature & Cancellations

  • Made-to-Measure: All products are custom-manufactured to your specific requirements.

  • No Right to Cancel: Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the statutory 14-day "cooling-off" period for distance selling does not apply to bespoke, made-to-measure goods.

  • Order Changes: Once the manufacturing process has begun (usually within 24 hours of deposit), no changes or cancellations can be accepted.

4. Fitting & Installation

  • Access: The customer must provide clear access to the windows on the agreed fitting date.

  • Existing Fixtures: Our fitters will take reasonable care; however, we are not responsible for the structural integrity of the walls or window reveals. If a surface is found to be unsuitable for drilling, we reserve the right to charge for a return visit.

  • Removal of Old Blinds: Unless explicitly agreed in your quote, our fitters are not responsible for removing or disposing of existing window treatments.

5. Payment Terms

  • Deposit: A deposit (typically 50%) is required to initiate the manufacturing of your blinds.

  • Balance: The remaining balance is due immediately upon completion of the installation. We reserve the right to withhold warranties until the balance is cleared.

6. Product Warranty & Liability

  • Guarantee: We provide a 12-month guarantee on all hardware and installation. This does than cover "fair wear and tear," misuse, or accidental damage.

  • Fabric Variations: Minor dye-lot variations may occur between samples and the final product. We cannot guarantee an exact 100% colour match to small fabric swatches.

7. Child Safety

Gecko Blinds Limited complies strictly with BS EN 13120 standards. All blinds will be fitted with safety devices (cleats or tensioners) as required by law. These must not be removed or tampered with by the customer.
